Cinema Scene Marketing Installs Video Wall in New York Theater Lobby

Cinema Scene Marketing , a provider of in-lobby media and promotions, announced today the installation of its first large format video display in Clearview’s Chelsea Cinemas in New York City.

Supported by NEC Display Solutions hardware, the 6-by-10-foot video wall is comprised of 9 LCD displays configured in a three by three format and supported with high-definition directional sound. According to the company, movie studios have been the first to embrace the new platform. Original video content was developed for CBS Films’ release of ‘Beastly’ and in support of Relativity Media’s release of ‘Take Me Home Tonight’ and ‘Limitless.’

“ Cinema Scene continues to deliver on its mission of bringing innovation to the movie going experience,” said Michael Holmes, chief marketing officer of Overland Park, Kan.-based Cinema Scene Marketing. “ The displays will allow studios and brand advertisers a ‘billboard sized’ video display. Our unique programming, The Shuffle, creates the perfect platform for any content provider; all interactive content, including longer format video, digital stills, QR codes, webisodes, phone and tablet applications now have a place to effectively reach the movie goer.”

Cinema Scene plans expansion of the large format video displays into the Top 5 DMAs by summer 2011. These installations will complement the already successful TrailerVision digital signage network. The TrailerVision network recently broadened its nationwide footprint to more than 200 locations and continues to expand toward a projected 1,000-plus devices upon network completion.

Touching more than 200 million cinemagoers annually, Cinema Scene’s in-lobby promotions generate memorable brand exchanges, the company said. With 75 percent of its network located in Top 25 DMAs, the digital signage network provides Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) advertisers a media network to reach the highly desirable and captive movie going consumer at key theatre circuits including Carmike Cinemas, Classic Cinemas, Clearview Cinemas, Marcus Theatres, Muvico Theaters, National Amusements Theatres, Pacific Theatres, Rave Motion Pictures and Wehrenberg Theatres.
