Chiranjeevi's Daughter Srija Lodges Complaint Against Husband - Hyderabad News on fullhyd.com

15th Mar, 2011: Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) President Chiranjeevi's daughter Srija had approached the Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Monday, accusing her husband, Sirish Bharadwaj, and her mother-in-law of subjecting her to physical and mental torture.

Srija had dominated the regional media in October 2007 by marrying Sirish against the wishes of her family. The then newly-wed couple had fled to Delhi and asked the court for protection from her family.

Sirish has allegedly demanded Rs. 1.5 crores from Srija, despite the fact that she has already given him several crores. "As I had married against my parents' wishes and we are blessed with a 2 1/2-year-old daughter, I kept quiet," said Srija.

She stated that her her husband's limitless greed had made her feel insecure, and that she had recently re-registered all her properties in the name of her parents. This move, Srija said, further enraged Sirish and she faced increased harassment.

The women's police station of the CCS booked a case against Sirish under Section 498-A (subjecting a married woman to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He is reported to have been taken into custody.

Sirish and his parents are to be interrogated by the cops.

Sirish Bharadwaj is a member of Central Board Of Film Certification, Regional Office.
