DWTS: Kristie Alley dances hot cha cha on premiere?

DWTS News!

Dancing With The Stars biggest controversy is Fat Actress Kirstie Alley?

Emmy-winning actress Kirstie Alley may be the most controversial contestant on season 12 of Dancing With the Stars, the latest and least controversial season, many are saying. At 60 years old, Kirstie Alley is the oldest contestant and arguably the most famous, both for her roles on the hit television shows Cheers and Frasier and for her stint as the spokeswoman for Jenny Craig.

Kirstie Alley long has been known for her struggle with weight. Having topped out at 230 pounds (at just 5’7.5″) she recently lost 60 pounds, she said, and she’s hoping the rigors of training for the show will help her drop another 30 pounds or more. “I think with this strenuous, rigorous dance schedule, I think it’s going to work. It’s exciting,” she told Us Magazine.

Kirstie Alley initially rejected the idea of being a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.

Us Magazine reports:

“You know, it’s like that guy who asks you out over and over and over again and you’re like ‘No, no, no, no, no,’” [Alley] said. “And then finally you’re like, ‘Oh fine, all right, we can have breakfast.’ And then you’re like, ‘Oh all right, I’ll sleep with you.’”

“Their tenacity was good because it made me feel like, ‘Wow! These people have confidence I can do this,’” she told Us. “Because I really didn’t have confidence that I could do this.”

“After dancing the first day I almost started crying and ran home,” she told Us. “But the second day was a little better and today was even better.”

If Kirstie Alley is likely to be embroiled in any controversy in season 12 of Dancing With the Stars, it will be over her latest diet, Organic Liaison, which she said was developed by top-notch scientists at her behest. Asked if the Church of Scientology, of which she is a member, profits from the diet plan, Alley vehemently denied the claims and said that, while the Church of Scientology has helped her lose weight, the diet product is completely independent of the organization.

In this newer, tamer season 12 of Dancing With the Stars, the other likely candidate for controversy will be Wendy Williams, the talk show host, who is known (at least among her fans) for instigating trouble with her guests. It’s possible she and Kirstie Alley could share some words, but sources suggest viewers are unlikely to see any serious drama this season compared to previous seasons.
