Bradley Cooper is Hesitant to Try Out for Another Superhero Movie Role, Including THE FLASH

After loosing the coveted Green Lantern movie role to Ryan Reynolds last year, the Hangover and Limitless star doesn't seem to be in a rush to audition for any other tights wearing cinematic hero.

Martin Campbell's superhero space adventure, Green Lantern , is set for theatrical release this summer, and Warner Bros is stepping up production of their next comic book properties. Christopher Nolan is in pre-production for his next installment of the Batman film franchise, while also producing the Zack Snyder directed Superman reboot . Though these three characters have tangible, live-action prospects, the studio is attempting to showcase several other fan favorite heroes in the near future.

Wonder Woman is heading back to the small screen with actress Adrianne Palicki in the title role, while screenwriters Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim are ironing out the kinks of their Flash film script. The movie will tell the story of police scientist Barry Allen who, by way of a laboratory accident, becomes DC Comics' Scarlet Speedster. Actor Ryan Reynolds has been liked by many fans for a role in The Flash (even though most chose his for another character who bears the moniker -- Wally West), but he was selected by Warner Bros and director Martin Campbell to portray another DC hero, the Green Lantern Hal Jordan.

Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake were named as the two other finalists for the Green Lantern role before the final decision to hire Reynolds was made; and now it appears a large part of the fanbase want Cooper for the upcoming Flash role. Those fans shouldn't get their hopes up, though, as Cooper doesn't seem too enthused about pursuing the part.

Speaking to Obsessed With Film at a recent Limitless junket, Cooper was asked whether he feels up for another attempt at a big screen comic book character role; particularly that of The Flash, to which he responded, "Well I auditioned for the The Green Lantern and didn’t get it so I’m reluctant to put on the cape again.” Reluctant isn't necessarily a flat-out 'no,' but it appears it will surely take quite a bit of assurance for Cooper to don any superhero tights in the future.

Meanwhile, Green Lantern hits theaters this June and both The Dark Knight Rises and Superman: Man of Steel are scheduled for theatrical release in 2012.
