A couple of caveats on the list that follows.

It is not complete, but it is fairly comprehensive. Some smaller films may not open when they are slated to or at all, although the dates for big-budget films like "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" or "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" are carved in stone.

reflects on the experience that changed his life and says he looks forward to going on tour and soon thereafter getting into the studio to make an album.

Stefano tells The Insider.com that he's now had a chance to think about his performances after being eliminated from the hit FOX show last week and would only change one thing: he would have chosen a different song the week he sang Lionel Richie 's"Hello," which he said he just didn't know well enough to perform to his best potential.

Why Bradley Cooper Won’t Date Jennifer Aniston

Sure, he just broke up with Rene Zellweger last month, but UsMagazine.com reports that Bradley Cooper is out mingling already with former  Friends star Jennifer Aniston.  Since the rumors started flying, multiple sources have stressed that this is not a love connection between the two, but instead just a rekindling of a friendship.  ”Bradley knows that by dating Jen, he’s be known as Mr. Jennifer Aniston,” a friend of the star of The Hangover and Limitless said . One insider added Cooper and Aniston are  trying to find more projects to work on together.  The duo were first paired together in the feature He’s Just Not That Into You .  ”Bradley loves Jennifer as a friend,” the insider added.

This morning, TMZ announced Lindsay Lohan’s exit from the (alleged) Gotti movie.  This afternoon, TMZ announced her return to the (alleged) Gotti movie.  So… what kind of stupid you want to believe TMZ is will guide whether you believe, A) They were just used by first-time (alleged) producer Mark Fiore to negotiate with Lohan, B) The entire thing was just a stunt by Fiore’s publicists and TMZ was the lucky sucker to be used like journalistic toilet paper by the (alleged) producer, or C) this was all a scam by Lohan’s people to explain why she was playing such a small role in the film and showing how very responsible she really is. Or maybe someone explained to the (alleged) producer after the press conference that he couldn’t get insurance against Lohan flaking out if she was in a major role, but could get her covered – or was willing to take the chance she’d show and show sober – for a few days work. Cinema: recensione film Limitless

Bradley Cooper ville selv tage pillen

Taking Pills to Make You Smarter

What's the Most Recent Development?

How many of us ever know what it is to become the perfect version of ourselves? The new film Limitless , directed by Neil Burger, asks this very question. In the film, a down-and-out writer comes to live the high life by taking a drug that optimizes his brain's output. The plot is an extension of real life where everyone from fighter pilots to university students use prescription stimulants to boost alertness and deepen concentration—pills that helps us realize our personal ambitions. But where is the line between acceptable medical use and dangerous abuse?

"Square Grouper": A hilarious, tragic tale of Florida ganja

When weed was king: "Square Grouper" recalls the mellow, pre-coke era of the Sunshine State's drug trade

Miami-based documentary filmmaker Billy Corben is halfway between a journalist and a cultural archaeologist, excavating the history of a region that seems to have no history, and to scarcely be a place at all. Corben may always be best known for "Cocaine Cowboys," his exhaustive and frequently hair-raising survey of the insane Florida drug wars of the 1980s, but his new film "Square Groupers," which looks back to a mellower time and a more benevolent drug, is altogether a droller, drier work, infused with the spirit of Elmore Leonard and Jimmy Buffett. (The title refers to the famous but apocryphal notion that Florida fisherman occasionally caught bales of marijuana dumped overboard by smugglers.)

Our critics recommend...

Andy Warhol's Headline Works to Be Presented by the National Gallery of Art

WASHINGTON, DC.- The first exhibition to fully examine the works that Andy Warhol created on the theme of news headlines will premiere at the National Gallery of Art , Washington, from September 25, 2011, to January 2, 2012. WARHOL: HEADLINES will define and present some 80 works—paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, film, video, and television—based largely on the tabloid news, revealing the artist's career-long obsession with the sensational side of contemporary media. Source materials for the art will be presented for comparison, demonstrating the ways in which Warhol cropped, altered, obscured, and reoriented the original texts and images, underscoring his role as both editor and author.

Scream 4

Civilization dependent on ecosystem

I occasionally, when preparing for class, find myself discovering things that I wish I had not found. I suppose that this is true for other educators, as well. Like the words from Don Henley's song, “Dirty Laundry,” it's a matter of “You don't really want to know what's goin’ on; you don't really want to find out how far it's gone.”

A virtual world of discovery

Wednesday night, a man from Washington, D.C., walked up to me after a talk I gave on writing and suggested I do a book on a female Civil War doctor.

His name was Arthur Conan Doyle. He looked a little like a distinguished Richard Dreyfuss. We chatted a bit. I thanked him. And then, poof, he was gone as quickly as I shut off my lap top computer.

Eric Hartley: Watching the watchmen

Everyone walking into Arundel Mills mall is videotaped by a network of surveillance cameras. Walk into a store, and more cameras track you.

The same is true at any sizable mall in America.

But when Thomas Tang turned the tables, taking out his iPhone to record security guards ordering him to leave Arundel Mills, they were having none of it.

Feature: Feel The 'F.E.A.R.': Making Games Scary

Ever since prehistoric man emerged from the caves and started the long journey towards civilisation (of sorts, at least), the sense of constant danger that informed early life changed forever. Now, the largely sedentary lifestyle of modern humans sanitises peril to the periphery, as genuine terror becomes an ambiguous, far away concept. However, the desire to feel the fear remains true in people, which is one of the reasons why artificially-created scares are still so alluring. For those not keen on extreme sports or outrageous risk-taking, horror-themed video games can get pulses racing and palms sweating. From Resident Evil to Silent Hill , games have provided some genuinely terrifying moments, but it's also tricky to maintain that fine balance between fear and farce. Digital Spy caught up with the team behind the supernatural first-person shooter series F.E.A.R. to discuss how to put genuine terror into games.

Wikipedia

Fomo (Fear of Missing Out) applies to culture, too | Film | The Guardian

I was halfway through Nightmare Movies, Kim Newman's perceptive and entertaining book about horror cinema since the 1960s, when I had my first anxiety attack. Spawn of the Slithis? Trail of the Screaming Forehead? All those horror movies, 95% of which the author estimates he has actually watched! He and I are of the same generation, and started reviewing films around the same time, in the early 1980s. So how come he's seen so many more than me?

With its newly insatiable appetite for entertainment, its rapidly expanding movie industry and its insistence on censorship, mainland China has become, for better and worse, the dominant force in Asian films.

KAGAN: March Was Dismal for Movie Profits

By DAVID LIEBERMAN, Executive Editor | Thursday April 14, 2011 @ 8:53pm EDT Tags: Battle: Los Angeles , Limitless , Mars Needs Moms , Movie Profits , Rango , Red Riding Hood , Take Me Home Tonight

I love these kinds of reports because they confirm for us what we already suspect. According to research firm SNL Kagan, a film must hit 1.75 on its Kagan Profitability Index to become a moneymaker. But the dozen March releases will average 1.03 -- down from the 1.78 average from a year ago (which included hits Disney's Alice In Wonderland and DreamWorks' How To Train Your Dragon .) Analyst Wade Holden writes that certain money losers will be Relativity's  Take Me Home Tonight and Warner Bros'  Red Riding Hood . But Holden expects Disney’s Mars Needs Moms from Robert Zemeckis' ImageMovers Digital to be the biggest bomb, projected to generate just $81.3 million in revenues, although it cost $264.8 million to produce, distribute, and market. The Kagan report says Sony's  Battle: Los Angeles , Relativity's Limitless , and Paramount's  Rango may come close “if [the studios] have a favorable distribution agreement” with theaters.

MOVIE REVIEW LIMITLESS? NOT REALLY.

Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is a loser whose life is falling apart. He is failing in his job as a writer, and his girlfriend (Abbie Cornish) dumped him. Soon after, Eddie accidentally meets his ex-wife’s brother, Vernon Gant (Johnny Whitworth), a drug dealer who sees directly through Eddie’s miserable existence. Vernon offers Eddie a new drug, promising that it will change his life for better by temporarily increasing his intelligence. Vernon claims that humans only use 20 percent of their brain and that the drug, called NZT, would enable Eddie to reach his full potential. Eddie hesitates, but due to his desperate situation, he eventually tries NZT and is surprised to find that it, indeed, focuses his attention and increases his intelligence. He immediately cleans up his messy apartment, writes a first draft of his book, and delivers the draft to his editor, who is stunned by the work. But soon, the effect of NZT drops, and Eddie senses a return to his lowlier existence.

The Incredibles Blu-ray Review

There are a lot of comic book inspired movies that have hit theaters over the years and it has always been hit or miss with all of them. It is never an easy thing to bring to life what so many fans have held in their hearts for so many years. But there have been a select few that were able to become huge successes in theaters. Having an excellent cast is one key component, a good director who knows how to translate it properly, and finally a good story. A perfect example of this formula is The Incredibles, an animated film from the geniuses at Pixar about a family of super heroes who come out of retirement to save the world.

Movie sequels often disappoint

Is The Hangover Part II doomed to fall short of the original?

After releasing a comedy movie that unexpectedly turns into a box office hit, studios are always itching to make a sequel in hopes of recreating the money-making success of the original. More often than not, these turn out to be failures, like Home Alone 2 , Weekend at Bernie’s II , and Miss Congeniality 2 , to name a few. Usually, studios will leave the game early, maintaining some degree of dignity and respect for the first movie. Other times, studios try desperately, making part threes and part fours (like the unfortunate Shrek movies) until the magic that made the first movie is completely replaced with a cheap, overworked franchise.

"Sucker Punch" shines, but for how long?

Burlesque dancers and chaotic fiery explosions! What more could you ask for?

Zack Snyder and Steve Shibuya certainly couldn't think of anything more worth watching while scripting Sucker Punch - and the jury is still out on whether or not this is necessarily a good thing.  Snyder is no stranger to the silver screen with major box office hits such as Dawn of the Dead and 300, but he has also been known for his flops like the critically crucified Watchmen .

Box Office is Down 20%. Should Hollywood Panic? - Dorothy Pomerantz - Show Me The Money - Forbes

Movies like 'Cars 2' should help the 2011 box office.

The kids film Hop topped the box office this weekend with $38 million ($10 million more than Exhibitor Relations expected it to earn). But the first quarter hasn’t been good to Hollywood. Box office receipts are down 20%. And everyone from studios to theater owners are getting nervous.

Frickin' Eh Movie News: Fooled Edition

News on The Expendables 2 getting dated, Arnold Schwarzenegger unveiling The Governator , Snow White finding its star, the newest trailer for The Hangover Part II and more!

Well, spring finally appears to be here – thank goodness! We've still got several feet of snow just about everywhere but it's slowly starting to melt, the sun is coming out every once in a while, and for the first time this year I was able to drive with my window down without wearing a coat (not for long, granted, but it happened). With spring comes the end of university, the start of the big summer blockbusters, and a lot of change. Spring cleaning indeed this year. But let's get into the news:

Director Jason Winer Interview ARTHUR

In the new modern version of Arthur, Russell Brand reinvents the role of loveable billionaire Arthur Bach, a perpetual child who relies on his charm and limitless fortune to get by in life. His lifelong nanny and only true friend, Hobson (Helen Mirren), keeps him out of trouble while his icy cold mother (Geraldine James) wishes he would grow up and be more responsible, as sole heir to the family business, Bach Worldwide. When it becomes clear that Arthur has no plans to ever change, he is given an ultimatum to marry the beautiful but unlovable Susan Johnson (Jennifer Garner), an ambitious corporate exec who wants the family name, in order to run the company, which must be headed by a Bach. If he doesn’t stay in line, he will have to say goodbye to the billion-dollar inheritance that feeds his way of life. But then, he meets and falls for New York City tour guide Naomi (Greta Gerwig), who not only makes him want to take charge of his own life, but become the man that even he didn’t think he could ever be.

Hop Is the Number One Movie at the Box Office

Who says holiday movies are only for December? Russell Brand's animated bunny film Hop easily took the top spot at the box office in its opening weekend, taking in an impressive $38.1 million. Despite an SNL appearance by Jake Gyllenhaal himself, newbie action flick Source Code trailed in second with $15 million. Horror flick Insidious took third with $13.4 million, while former number one movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules slid to fourth with $10.2 million. Limitless clung onto a top five spot with $9.4 million.

Movie Review: Source Code

“ Source Code ” is not just good science fiction, it’s also a good movie. This has been a solid season for movies with sci-fi-like concepts that did not rely heavily on special effects. “The Adjustment Bureau” was a solid film. “Limitless” may not have been as bright as its main character, but it was a fun ride throughout, and even if I wanted to complain about the Hollywood ending, I have to admit that sometimes it’s nice to see the good guys win. I’m not going to tell you who wins in “Source Code,” but needless to say, if you’ve seen the previews and the commercials, you’ve only started to unravel the layers of this movie.

Cooper's Acting Proves 'Limitless' - Entertainment

What would happen if you could take a pill that would turn you into a genius? Would you use it to help mankind or would you use it for your own personal pleasures? In the movie Limitless, the latter is the course that the characters take. This is a good direction because the movie's plot is as thrilling as putting your hand in boiling water.

Abbie Cornish saved by hair clip

Abbie Cornish has revealed a hair clip saved her from a lethal weapon while filming Sucker Punch.

The 28-year-old Australian actress has been dubbed one of Hollywood’s most promising rising stars, starring in hit movies such as Limitless alongside movie hunk Bradley Cooper and most recently in action thriller Sucker Punch. The actress appears in Sucker Punch alongside Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone and Jamie Chung. The movie is about a group of inmates at an insane asylum who try to escape, and the cast all completed gruelling training ahead of shooting. Abbie has revealed there were some risky elements to filming, as she recalled an incident where she was hit on the head by a bayonet while making the movie.

13.7: Cosmos And Culture

Imagine a pill that would give you tremendous intellectual power, triggering an avalanche of neuronal activity, igniting your brain into unparalleled awareness. You take the little thing and, for a few hours, you are a god-like creature. This is the premise of Limitless , the movie directed by Neil Burger, based on the novel by Alan Glynn and starring Bradley Cooper as the loser-writer who is turned into a genius by the powers of a psychotropic drug.

Saha: ‘Limitless’undervalues power of human brain

What if you could take a pill that made you better, smarter, and richer? This is the basis of the new movie Limitless starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, and Robert De Niro.

Basically, Cooper’s character, Eddie Morra, is a deadbeat writer who is recently dumped by his girlfriend and is about to lose his apartment. He discovers NZT-48, a drug that supposedly “accesses 100% of the brain”. The movie claims we can only access 20% of our brain. One pill allows him to finish writing his book, learn Italian, and become rich through investment in 4 days. He becomes a wealthy businessman when he starts experiencing adverse side effects of the drug: black outs, memory lapses, and physically drained. And …

What is it about sci-fi this year, and sci-fi romances in particular?

We’ve had “Adjustment Bureau,” not great but not bad at all, no matter if you saw the boom mike a few more times than you should. Then there was “Limitless,” which fell down in the romance department, a shortcoming in Bradley Cooper’s on screen arsenal.

At The Movies: Brains At The Movies

Aside from the ones we take with us, allegedly (and despite some of the bad…*cough*…“Twilight”…*cough*…decisions they sometimes make), brains are also often the focus of movies. Whether they be the food for zombies or the subject of science fiction and fantasy, they’re frequently front and center in plots and themes, and the current crop of movies is no exception.

IT’S ABOUT A pill that according to its tagline can make you both rich and powerful – done right, the premise could make Limitless a brilliant watch, but one wrong step equals disaster. Well, at least the cast looks promising.

Limited Patience for "Limitless"

Greetings moviegoers! I come to you today with my thoughts on the new movie, starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, and Robert DeNiro. Putting what I spent nearly two hours in the theater watching into words is a real challenge.

This film attempts to explore what it would be like if we could use all of our brain, instead of only 20 percent of it, which is the average amount as told to us during the movie. We see how a person can act given a tremendous amount of uncontrolled power. Normally, a movie with this premise would be intriguing to watch, but in this instance, the story was totally unbelievable. I would personally prefer the story to make a little sense and to not be extremely far-fetched.
