QUEEN TO PLAY: (B) Kevin Kline stars in this French import about a middle-age chambermaid whose obsession with chess provides her with much-needed intellectual stimulation and brings her into contact with a reclusive American who shares her love of the game. THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU (B-) Matt Damon and Emily Blunt star in a thriller about an ambitious politician who begins dating a ballerina and finds that some mysterious operatives will do anything to prevent them from having a relationship. BATTLE: LOS ANGELES: (C-) Michelle Rodriguez, Aaron Eckhart and Bridget Moynahan star in a fact-based World War II story about people shooting into the sky after they become convinced that Japanese aircraft are flying over California and planning to drop bombs. (116 minutes) Sustained and intense sequences of war violence and destruction, language. (PG-13)

BEASTLY: (C-) Vanessa Hudgens, Neil Patrick Harris, Alex Pettyfer and Peter Krause star in a modern retelling of the "Beauty and the Beast" story in which a Manhattan teenager is transformed into a monster until he can find true love. Daniel Barnz directed. Language including some crude comments, drug references and brief violence. 91 minutes. (PG-13)

BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK: (A) Richard Press directed this documentary on the 80-year-old New York Times photographer who devotes most of his talent to visually capturing people in everyday fashions. The gifted and eccentric Cunningham has lived in the same small studio apartment above Carnegie Hall for 50 years, never eats in restaurants, and travels the streets on his only means of transportation, a worn-out bicycle. CERTIFIED COPY: ( A-) Juliette Binoche stars in this absorbing import about a British author drawn to a French woman during a book tour in Tuscany. Abbas Kiarostami ("Ten") directed. (106 minutes) (Unrated) Ritz 5

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODRICK RULES: (B+) Devon Bostwick returns as Rodrick in this funny and touching sequel that has the main character, Greg (Zachary Gordon), and his older brother forced to interact due to their mother's misguided attempts to have them bond. Steve Zahn co-stars. The family film is based on the novel by Jeff Kinney, and David Bowers ("Flushed Away") directed. (96 minutes) Mile rude humor and mischief. (PG)

HOP: (B) The plot of "The Santa Clause" is borrowed in this colorful children's film about a guy who takes over delivering candy for the Easter Bunny. James Marsden, Russell Brand, Elizabeth Perkins and, as himself, David Hasselhoff star in this bouncy tale that combines live action and computer-generated images. (90 minutes) Mild rude humor. (PG)

INSIDIOUS: (B+) During this supernatural chiller, starring Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Barbara Hershey, a tragedy strikes a young boy. His parents then start to experience supernatural events, which may be caused by evil spirits. Leigh Whannell and James Wan, who previously teamed as writer and director, respectively, on the original "Saw," again combined their talents. (102 minutes) Adult themes, violence, terror, frightening images, brief strong language. (PG-13)

JANE EYRE: (B) Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender star in this romantic drama that's set in the 19th century. It's based on Charlotte Bronte's novel that's set on an isolated island estate and follows a governess and her relationship with a man hiding a secret. (121 minutes) A nude image, adult themes, brief violence. (PG-13) Ritz 5, Rave Ritz

KILL THE IRISHMAN: (B-) A strong ensemble, including Ray Stevenson, Val Kilmer, Vincent D'Onofrio, Steve Schirripa, Paul Sorvino and Christopher Walken, anchors this factual crime drama. The plot follows a brutal gangster who, while operating in Cleveland during the 1970s, decided to stop taking orders from the mob and survived numerous assassination attempts. Jonathan Hensleigh ("The Punisher") directed. (107 minutes) Strong violence, language, sexual content, nudity. (R) Ritz Bourse

THE KING'S SPEECH: (B+) A terrific ensemble, including Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, Geoffrey Rush and Guy Pearce, stars in this intriguing fact-based story about King George VI and how he received help with his nervous stammer from a maverick Australian speech therapist. (118 minutes) Adult themes. (PG-13)

LIMITLESS: (B) A strong ensemble, including Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Abbie Cornish and Anna Friel, anchors this slick fantasy thriller about a writer who learns that a top-secret drug gives users superhuman brain power. He samples it and then discovers that a clandestine group is following his every move. Neil Burger ("The Illusionist") directed. (105 minutes) Drug elements, violence, disturbing images, sexuality, language. (PG-13)

THE LINCOLN LAWYER: (B+) In this legal thriller, starring Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, John Leguizamo, William H. Macy and Josh Lucas, a manipulative Beverly Hills lawyer operates out of a Lincoln Town Car and agrees to defend a wealthy man accused of beating a prostitute. The seemingly easy-to-win case soon grows dangerously complicated. (119 minutes) Some violence, sexual content, language. (R)

MIRAL: (C) In this drama, starring Freida Pinto ("Slumdog Millionaire"), an orphaned Palestinian girl grows up in the midst of the Arab-Israeli war. Julian Schnabel ("The Diving Bell and the Butterfly") directed. (114 minutes) Adult themes, some violent content, including a sexual assault. (PG-13) Ritz Bourse

THE MUSIC NEVER STOPPED: (B-) In this drama, with Julia Ormond and J.K. Simmons, a father attempts to reach out to his son, who has a brain tumor that prevents him from forming memories. OF GODS AND MEN: (A-) In this Cannes Film Festival favorite starring Lambert Wilson ("The Matrix Reloaded"), some French Trappist monks live in a poor Algerian community and must decide whether to remain or flee when some terrorists arrive in the area. Xavier Beauvois ("To Mathieu") directed. (122 minutes) War violence, some disturbing images, brief language. (PG-13) Ritz 5, Rave Ritz

PAUL: (B-) British actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who previously teamed in the cult favorite "Shaun of the Dead" (2004), co-star in this comedy about two UFO buffs who meet an extraterrestrial and embark on a road trip with the space visitor. Sigourney Weaver co-stars, and Seth Rogen provides the voice of the alien. Greg Mottola ("Superbad") directed. (104 minutes) Language, sexual references, drug use. (R)

RANGO: (B+) Johnny Depp voices the title character in a computer-animated tale about a chameleon who dreams of being a swashbuckling hero and then discovers the dangers when he gets the chance. Gore Verbinski ("Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest") directed. (107 minutes) Rude humor, language, action and smoking. (PG)

RED RIDING HOOD: (C-) Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman and Shiloh Fernandez star in a dark retelling of the fairy tale in which demons and werewolves make the title character's walk in the woods extremely dangerous. Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight") directed. Violence and creature terror, and some sensuality. (PG-13)

SOURCE CODE: (B) In this slick sci-fi thriller, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan, Jeffrey Wright and Vera Farmiga, a military member travels back and forth through time in eight-minute intervals to foil a terrorist act on a train bound for Chicago. Although it stumbles at the end, the buildup is involving. Duncan Jones ("Moon") directed. (93 minutes) Some violence, disturbing images, language. (PG-13)

SUCKER PUNCH: (C) Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Jamie Chung, Vanessa Hudgens, Jon Hamm and Australian actress Emily Browning fight numerous enemies during this fantasy about a wrongly institutionalized girl who creates an alternate reality to help her escape from imprisonment. The film will be available in IMAX. Zack Snyder ("300") directed. (120 minutes) Violence, language, some sexual content. (PG-13)

WIN WIN: (B+) In this slice-of-life tale, starring Paul Giamatti and Amy Ryan, a struggling attorney volunteers as a high school wrestling coach and secretly takes on the guardianship of an elderly client in an attempt to keep his finances afloat. Tom McCarthy ("The Visitor") directed. (106 minutes) Language. (R) Ritz 5, Rave Ritz
