Limitless Review By Ramster - MovieWeb.com

What If only a pill can make you rich and powerful? Sounds stupid doesn't it, but Eddie Morra will do anything to get his hands on it! Limitless talks of a below average person Eddie Morra who thinks his life sucks and he really can't get things straight. On being introduced to a mysterious pill, known as the NZT-48, the pill is an untested drug which is of great value when it makes its way to the "Streets". He gets to know that by taking the pill he would be able to reach his full potential. Not believing at first, he still tries it. After 30 seconds in effect you see a different man, a man who is the exact opposite of his former self. Eddie Morra is the biggest player in town, from an acknowledged writer to the biggest broker to a ladies' man. Eddie's life was just perfect. But everything comes with a price, he has to take the drug frequently to remain in effect or else face the side effects and then you have others who are willing to risk more than anything to get their hands on the drug by any means whatsoever. Eddie realizing the threat he has dragged himself into and it is the same drug which is the only way out.

Let's begin with the story......Leslie Dixon and Alan Glynn were the writers who came up with the story. Now the writers really came up with interesting story, I would say it was more of a concept that was delivered well. Although scientists argue that a human mind is already in its full potential, there is no drug of this sort which can really make a person perfect. But still considering it fiction, the story was splendid and the concept was cool. I really loved every bit of it, though it really got exaggerated at times but still the content was shown in a way as if it could be humanly possible. I mean the NZT-48 is a drug and it is obvious that once you're addicted to it and on not getting your doses you will face side effects. So the writers really did put some great effort there and gave the movie an interesting avatar.

Neil Burger was the director. Neil had previously presented the Illusionist and he kept his promise in this one as well. The movie was something really unique and he even came up with good camera effects and angles making you feel as if you're on the drug too! :P The effects used were good too and he took and coordinated the movie pretty well.

Coming to the cast.....Bradley Cooper was the main lead and Bradley really just took his acting skills to a new level. He has always or mostly been in supporting roles and even if he was in a lead role he really didn't do well, but limitless changed everything. This has to be Bradley's best so far after The A-team. He took the role and presented it the way it should be. I would say that Bradley was definitely a good choice for the role. Abbie Cornish and Robert DeNiro were also part of the crew. Abbie being the female lead didn't really put that much of an effort her performance was okay and Mr. DeNiro also wasn't in the mood. Mr. DeNiro gave a good performance but it isn't what you really see from the veteran usually. The supports were also good collectively. Bradley was the only one with the spotlight on.

Summing it up........I would recommend it as limitless really is something new and has an interesting platform. Cooper fans are in for a treat and the movie is a well paced thriller like no other! :)
