Hilary Duff makes $100K from 'Bonnie and Clyde' movie despite being fired over pregnancy | syracuse.com

Former "Lizzie McGuire" star Hilary Duff revealed she's pregnant earlier this month, and it's already cost her one job.

Cypress Moon Productions, who signed the 23-year-old actress to play Bonnie Parker in the upcoming "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" movie, has fired Duff. They dropped her from the project last week since the infamous public enemy of the 1930's was never pregnant.

But don't feel too bad for Duff -- she got paid $100,000 without even working a day on the set. According to TMZ, sources say Duff had a play-or-pay contract guaranteeing six figures if they terminate her employment for any reason.

Duff has bigger things on her mind. She and her husband, NHL star Mike Comrie, announced on their one-year anniversary that they are "extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives."

She and her older sister Haylie Duff were spotted volunteering at the Los Angeles Mission’s 75th End Of Summer Block Party on Saturday. When asked about the movie, Hilary told TMZ, "I don't wanna give them any more press than they've already gotten off me ... I think [my] baby is a little bit more exciting."

Who will replace Duff in the female lead role?

"Mamma Mia!" star Amanda Seyfried was reportedly approached and turned it down. MTV has suggested three possible candidates to play the famed outlaw: Oscar-nominated "An Education" actress Carey Mulligan, "Glee" graduate Dianna Argron and femme fatale Lindsay Lohan.

No one is set to play Clyde Barrow, but Moviefone reports "Limitless" director is signed on to the new film along with "Up In The Air" screenwriter Sheldon Turner. The upcoming flick is based on the Jeff Guinn book, "Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde."

Guinn's less-romanticized version contains much more gritty details than the Warren Beatty/Faye Dunaway 1967 film "Bonnie and Clyde." For example, Guinn claims that Bonnie Parker was a prostitute before meeting Barrow and that Clyde's first murder was a cell mate who had repeatedly sexually abused him. The lovers were both just 22 when gunned down in 1934.
